Will writing companies – a safe bet?
The recent BBC Panorama programme, aired on the 9th August 2010, has highlighted the risks that people take by entrusting their Will instructions to Will Writing Companies.
Many people have experienced problems of hidden charges, disguised behind a cheap Will offer. Beneficiaries have also reported that they have had their inheritance stolen by such firms, extortionate fees and general malpractice.
Due to the serious nature of the complaints received against certain Will writing companies, the Scottish Government is legislating against such Companies to offer greater protection to the public.
